People Who Studied Abroad #155:John Robinson, pastor of the Separatist group now known as the “Pilgrims”

From:
England

Studied:
He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge and was ordained as the minister to the Separatists soon after their arrival in Leiden (Netherlands). While the Separatists settled in Leiden, he studied theology at the University of Leiden. He stayed behind with the majority of the congregation and was not one of the small group who made the historical 1620 Mayflower voyage. He died in Holland before he was able to travel to America, but his son Isaac did emigrate to the Plymouth Colony in 1631.
