¡Vamos a Barcelona!: Step Away From the Starbucks →

thebarcelonaadventures:

Whether it was a strategic move of Starbucks to nestle itself right under my study abroad program’s building, or a mere coincidence (I’m going to go with the latter) it is interfering with something you may know as “study abroad.

There are a few reasons why you shouldn’t be sipping from that glorified cup of that mermaid-logo coffee. You’ve heard the typical reasons like; it’s way overpriced and you’re drinking more sugar and cream than actual coffee. Apart from these facts (which I have been ignoring forever, since I am a fervent Starbucks coffee-goer myself) there is another concept that causes a voice to abrupt in my mind as if it is been delivered to me by a megaphone: “STEP AWAY FROM THE STARBUCKS.”…

Eating and drinking like the locals is a good way to learn about the culture you’re visiting!
