Fictional Character Who Studied Abroad #54:
Miriam “Mimmi” Wu, Millennium series by Stieg Larsson

I’m not clear on where she grew up, but she’s studied in at least two countries!

In The Girl Who Played With Fire:
Mimmi’s mother was from Hong Kong, her father from Boden. Salander knew that her parents lived in Paris. Mimmi was studying sociology in Stockholm, and she had an older sister studying anthropology in the States.

In The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest:
“I’m going to be in Paris for a while. My studies at home were a mess so I signed up at the university here instead. I’ll probably stay at least one academic year.”
