People Who Studied Abroad #407:
Joe Dassin, singer-songwriter

From:
United States

Studied:
His father, Jules Dassin, was a film director who was blacklisted in Hollywood in 1950, so the family moved to Europe when Joe was about 12 years old. Joe studied at the International School of Geneva and the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, and then studied for his baccalaureate in Grenoble, France. He went on to study at the University of Michigan (United States), where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1961 and a master’s degree in 1963.
