Fictional Character Who Studied Abroad #57: T’Challa (Black Panther), Marvel Comics He first appeared in a 1966 Fantastic Four comic, was a member of the Avengers and had his own series of comics and a TV show. He is the king of the fictional African country of Wakanda and the chief of the Panther Tribe. He studied in Europe and America before becoming the Black Panther and has a Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Oxford. There is buzz that the Black Panther will be one of the next Marvel superheroes to have his own live-action feature film. Maybe we’ll get to see a young T’Challa studying at Oxford, like we did with Charles Xavier.
